Our Mini Vinnie gets Creative!

Maria, our head girl and 'Mini Vinnie' has taken it upon herself to create some beautiful RE stickers.  She has carefully worked on these in her own time and today she has photocopied them to share with each class.  What a thoughtful thing to do!  They are beautiful! Thank you, Maria.

The Miracle of the Loaves

In RE today, we took part in role play whereby we came up with our own 'Breaking Newsround Report' based on Jesus' miracle of the loaves.  We worked in small groups to come up with our script before performing them to our peers.

The Library Bus

We enjoyed choosing some books from the library bus to have in our reading den!

Creative LEGO Builders Workshop

As part of our science topic this half term we are learning about electricity.  We've taken part in a LEGO Builders workshop where we made our own LEGO cities before adding circuits to create light!  We even added a moving train!

Playscript Writing

Today, we've been working on creating our own play scripts between two characters from the book, 'A Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.' We will perfect these next week and then perform them to the class.

Park DT Project

Our DT topic this half term has been to create our own park structures.  First, we took pictures of parks and discussed the structure we would like in our own park.  We then designed our park and gathered our resources.  After that, we worked as a team to assemble our structures.  The outcomes were amazing and everyone worked so well as a team.

Our Beautiful Choir

Our lovely choir sang this morning at a nursing home in Fleetwood; what a beautiful morning spreading Christmas joy!

DT Project - Making our own Park

Today, we went on a little DT field trip to take pictures of different structures on the park in readiness for our own DT 'Park Building Project.'

The Blitz - WWII

IAs part of our WWII topic, we have been analyzing different sources to see what they can tell us about The Blitz.

Young Writers Competition Winners

Congratulations to our Young Writer winners who all created a fabulous 'Wonder Verse'  We are proud of you!

Our Posada Box Journey

Cross Curricular Writing

In RE, we've been learning about Justice.  In History, we are learning all about WWII.  Our latest piece of writing combines the two of these as we've carefully watched and analysed the 2014 Sainsbury's Advert that tells us the story of two soldiers meeting to create a truce on Christmas Day.  We wrote a diary entry in the perspective of one of the soldiers - please take a look at our spectacular pieces of writing.  We hope you can imagine what it was like through the imagery we have created.

STEM RAF Rocket Builder Challenge Day

We have taken part in this year’s rocket builder STEM challenge whereby we had to make our own rocket and test its launch.  We had to think about many different areas of STEM including the science behind the launch, the maths behind its build, the design process and much more!  We worked as a team to create our own rockets and then we tested them out to see how far they travelled.  Our STEM booklets show the process and the testing and recording stages.

Advent Workshop

Thank you so much to all of our parents who could attend our lovely Advent workshop!  We really enjoyed making cards and pompom Santa decorations!  Thank you to Evelyn and Maria who shared a lovely reading and a prayer at the end of the session.

Alma - A Creepy Fantasy Story!

In English, we've watched the video clip 'Alma' and created our own fantasy story using a range of language and punctuation.  Our final pieces sound AMAZING! Take a look at some of them!

Maths

We are progressing very well in maths in Saxophone class.  We are using our morning maths arithmetic knowledge and applying this to problem solving in our lessons.  Keep it up Saxophone class!

Heart & Lung Dissecting

This morning, we had a visit from two science teachers from Cardinal Allen.  During our practical session, we took part in heart and lung dissecting.  It was interesting to see the different components of each which in turn helped us to consolidate the learning we have done in class.

Remembrance Day

Our little leadership team represented school beautifully at Sunday’s Remembrance Day service at the Memorial Park.  They respectfully presented a wreath for the fallen soldiers and showed their respect throughout the whole service.  Thank you, Year 6.
