Feathers & Flames Festival...The celebration of Ascension and Pentecost

To celebrate Ascension, we started with a whole school Mass before creating our own prayer for our world.  We prayed for a world that would follow in Jesus’ footsteps; we reminded ourselves that Jesus walks with us every day no matter what.  We then talked about how Jesus’ love is all around us – we looked at how to say the word LOVE in different languages.  After that, we wrote a message to Jesus in heaven on a balloon and released it.  Our final activity was ‘Hide and Seek’ with Jesus.  We partnered up and hid mini Jesus figures – this showed us that Jesus is all around us.

To celebrate Pentecost, we started with a liturgy which was led by the Mini Vinnies.  After our liturgy, we made birthday cards for our St Mary’s Church and then we delivered them so our parish could take one when they go to Mass.  We then finished off the day with a birthday party in the hall – we played games and listened to music.
