Our Classroom 
Library Visit
We had a lovely time visiting the library, where we listened to the wonderful story Jellyfish Giggle. The children really enjoyed listening to the story and joining in with the fun! Afterwards, we got creative and made our very own little jellyfish to go along with the book.
We had a fantastic time and loved bringing the story to life through our creativity!
Class Worship
The children enjoyed a special class worship with the children from Robin Class, exploring the theme of God’s Creation. Together, they reflected on the beauty and wonder of the world around us and talked about how we can show gratitude for all that God has created. The children shared their thoughts and ideas, listened to Bible stories and considered how they can care for our wonderful world and the people, plants and animals within it.
English
In English, the children have been enjoying the wonderful book Just Like Grandpa Jazz. They have explored the story through a range of creative activities, developing their understanding of capital letters, punctuation, conjunctions and adjectives. The children have written imaginative character descriptions and created their own letters describing the special treasures inside their suitcases. They have enjoyed using their creativity and imagination to bring their writing to life while developing their key English skills.
Art
The children have been experimenting with a range of materials to create different marks and tones, exploring how pressure and control can change their artwork. They have described textures, explored how artists use tone, and developed their shading skills. They have also practised sketching simple shapes and refining outlines.
RE
The children have been learning about God’s Creation and why Sunday is considered a holy day. They have explored the Christian belief that we are all made in God’s image and discussed how this can influence the way we treat ourselves and others. The children have reflected on how they can make positive choices, show kindness and become better people.
Maths
In Maths, the children have been developing their place value skills, working with numbers up to 1,000. They have been exploring hundreds, tens and ones, using number lines, ordering and comparing numbers, and identifying the value of each digit. The children have also been practising counting forwards and backwards and representing numbers in different ways.
Class Worship
We had the pleasure of watching children from Robin Class present their class worship. They did an absolutely amazing job and should be incredibly proud of themselves! The children spoke confidently and shared their learning beautifully. It was lovely to see how much thought, effort and enthusiasm they had put into their worship. They worked so well together and did a fantastic job of sharing their ideas with the school.
Head Boy & Head Girl Speeches
This morning, our class had the exciting opportunity to watch the Head Girl and Head Boy candidates deliver their speeches to the school. The children listened carefully as each candidate spoke confidently and shared their ideas for becoming one of our new school leaders.
After watching all of the speeches, the children took part in the voting process and proudly made their choices. It was lovely to see them taking the responsibility seriously and showing such enthusiasm for this important part of school life.
Library Visit
We had a wonderful visit to the library with the children. They enjoyed listening to a story read by the librarian and then had the opportunity to choose a book to bring back to school and share with their friends. The children had a fantastic time and really enjoyed their library experience!
Computing
The children have been learning how to stay safe and responsible online. They have explored the difference between facts, opinions and beliefs, developed their understanding of privacy settings, and learned how to protect personal information and respond appropriately to upsetting content online.
