What can we infer from a character's behaviour?
The children have begun reading 'Race to the Frozen North' ;as part of one of our lessons, in the first full week back, they read and analysis the second chapter, identifying the characters' behaviours and what we can infer about them from this. We had some great partner work and explanations shared as we reflected on the character's actions.
Child-Led Worship
Muhammad and Enoch did a brilliant job at planning and delivering their own worship on a chosen theme of us being Jesus' children and reflecting on who we love and how we can love Jesus.
Conscience Alley - Abram's decision
The children explored how Abram trusted God and made the brave decision to follow His plan by leaving his home and moving to Canaan. They considered the possible positives and negatives of such a difficult decision and took part in a conscience alley activity, sharing the different thoughts and feelings Abram may have experienced as he made his choice.
Art - drawing
At the beginning of the school year, the children completed a whole-school drawing assessment to capture their current drawing skills and abilities. This provides us with a starting point from which we can see how their confidence, creativity, attention to detail and use of different drawing techniques develop throughout the year.
The children will complete the same drawing assessment again at the end of the school year. We will then compare their work to celebrate their progress and identify how their artistic skills have developed.

Our Classroom
Our Year 5 classroom is a welcoming and purposeful space designed to support learning, reflection and a strong sense of belonging. Our SPaG display provides children with key vocabulary, rules and reminders to support their writing, while our worship area and prayer wall offer a quiet space for prayer, reflection and sharing intentions.
As Robin Class, we celebrate our class identity through displays, alongside reminders about our homework expectations and St Mary’s Way, helping children to understand our shared values and responsibilities. Our inviting reading corner encourages children to develop a love of reading and provides a comfortable space to enjoy books independently.
