Health and Safety Update - The use of Protective Playing Equipment

  • Fleetwood Carnival

    On Saturday 18th June, our school took part in the Fleetwood Carnival with entering our own float linked with the year of reading. We chose J.K Rowling as our author with a Harry Potter themed float. Many thanks needs to go to Mrs Thomas and other parents who spent many afternoons creating their masterpiece....we're looking forward to next year already! We were placed 3rd out of 5 schools - well done to everyone!

  • St. Mary's School Blazer now on sale!

    As of Monday 6th June, we have a school blazer available to buy. Below are pictures of Harrison - our head boy - modelling our new blazer, which is available to order from S&P Separates, Lord Street. They range from £22-24 depending on the size. We hope to see as many of our pupils in them over the next few weeks and when the new school year arrives in September, this is a great addition to our already, smart uniform.
  • Fleetwood Year of Reading Presentation

    A hugh thank you to our governor Symone Thwaites, our parents, children and staff who represented St Mary's at the Fleetwood Year of Reading Presentation, at Fleetwood High School last night. As part of a collaboration with other Fleetwood Schools we shared our "Reading Project," and illustrated some of the many reading events and celebrations St Mary's have had throughout 2015/16. 
  • Queen's 90th Birthday Celebrations

    On Thursday, our fantastic school choir opened the celebrations for the Queen's 90th on The Mount, at the event the beacon was lit, schools performed and the public were able to view art work made by schools. To make it even more special, BBC news were there to film what was happening and our choir sang on live TV.
  • Young Writers' competition

    The Rotary Club held a young writer competition in the Spring Term, the theme was Our World and the children could complete any type of writing but on that theme. And fantastic news is to be shared...Abigail Egan in Year 6 (Fibonacci Class), won the junior round out of all the children in Fleetwood who entered the competition, as well as the overall winner for the whole competition, including intermediate level and the seniors. She received a trophy for this to be kept in school. Abigail was presented with a certificate and a £25 Amazon voucher too.   • CAFOD fundraising

    During Lent, as a school, we have been raising money for CAFOD, who are leading a focus called 'Make a Splash', we have created a display in school getting the children to reflect on the importance of water to them, writing prayers for those without water and how we use it. In total, we raised £330 from our Easter egg raffle and weekly Lenten cake stalls. Thank you to all the children and parents for their contributions, our money will make a difference.
  • Fleetwood Year of Reading

    Look out for the wonderful writing from some of the children from Descartes this week. Their work will be displayed in Asda as part of their project with local author Dan Worsley.
