Health and Safety Update - The use of Protective Playing Equipment
On Wednesday the 9th October, the whole school celebrated Harvest at St Mary's Church. All of the donations that many of you kindly sent into school were presented to Father Michael and displayed at the front of church. After the mass, our new Headboy Lucas, Headgirl Molly and Deputies, Kian and Dzhuliya accompanied Mrs Kowalska to take the Harvest gifts to the local food bank. Mr. Colin Brown (secretary SVP Fleetwood Food Bank) was really happy and very appreciative and sent the following email to acknowledge the kindness and support of our school.
Hello Mrs Kowalska,
On behalf of the SVP Fleetwood Food Bank I would like to thank you, the Staff, children and parents for your support of the Food Bank at this time with your very generous food donation following your recent Harvest Festival.
Without the very generous support of schools, churches, organisations and individuals we would not be able to provide an average of about 35 food parcels each week which help to feed between 70 and 90 local people, adults and children, who can not afford to put food on their table for whatever reasons, as we do not receive any financial assistance from any statutory organisations and are completely dependant on voluntary donations of food and on some occasions money.
This year so far, with the help of these very generous donations, we have been able to give out over 1100 food parcels which have helped to feed over 1850 adults and over 1375 children a total of more than 3225 persons.
Many thanks once again,
Colin Brown
Secretary
SVP Fleetwood Food Bank
What better way to start the day! Children in the Breakfast Club, with the help and guidance of Mrs Ashworth and Mrs Whittaker, thoroughly enjoyed making these wonderful pom-poms prior to starting their school day.
This is just one of the many activities that children participate in each morning...........as well as having breakfast and a catch up with friends.
Breakfast Club starts at 8am each day and is open to all children. If you would like further details please contact the school office.
St. Mary's football team beat Stalmine 10 : 0 in the final league game for the season. This has been a wonderful year for this young team who have won five of the eight games in the league this year.
Congratulations boys and good luck with the Cup competition.
