  • Mrs. Tew's skydive for the charity MIND

Wed 03 May 2017 Karen Tew

On Saturday 6th May our Bursar Mrs.Tew will be taking part in a tandem skydive to raise money for the mental health charity MIND.  This is a wonderful charity which aims to help everyone experiencing a mental health problem  get the support and respect they deserve.

Any donations to this vital charity would be much appreciated and can be given in to the school office.

Photos to follow next week and good luck to Mrs. Tew!

Mrs Tew completed her skydive last Saturday - see below for pictures.  The whole school watched the DVD of the skydive in this morning's assembly and were all very excited!  Total money now raised for MIND and Help For Heroes is £650. Well done to a very brave Mrs Tew!

  • Stations of the Cross

Wed 05 Apr 2017 Mrs Sewell
On Wednesday 5th April to end our celebration in school for the season of Lent, we created our own 3D representations of the Stations of the Cross. All of the children in school were involved, as each class had to create their own version of two particular stations. The atmosphere in the hall was one of reflection and respect, which was shown by our pupils, visitors and parents. The hall was in darkness for the entire school day, only lit by candle light, with music playing quietly in the background. At lunchtime, we welcomed Fr Michael and parishioners from St Mary's Church, who had a Stations of the Cross service. Seven of our children from Yr 5 and 6 participated in the readings, as they have been doing throughout Lent at Church every Thursday. This was a lovely way for us mark the significance and sacrifice Jesus made and for the children to understand its importance.

  • Tower Wood Residential - Praise from the Staff at Tower Wood

Tue 31 Jan 2017 Ann Kowalska
It was lovely to receive the attached letter from the Deputy Head from Tower Wood.  In addition to this letter, were all the positive comments that myself and the rest of St Mary's Staff received whilst we were at Tower Wood. During this special week the children 'grew' in ways that are totally immeasurable and in the process have made memories that will stay with them for a life time.  Well done to all the children - you were fantastic.  A big thank you to Mrs Sewell, Mrs Bradford, 'Auntie Ann' and Mr Woodward for making the trip possible.

  • KS2 Carol Service

    Tue 20 Dec 2016 Mrs C Sewell
On Tuesday 20th December, KS2 put on their Carol Service at St. Mary's Church. It was a lovely occasion seeing all of the children in their smart uniforms, sharing the Christmas story through readings and carols. In addition, it was also lovely to see the church so full with the family and friends of St. Mary's who'd come along to support their children and our school. We wish all our children and their families a very merry and peaceful Christmas.
  • St. Mary's go to the Pantomime

    Sat 10 Dec 2016
On Friday 9th December, all of the St. Mary's children, staff and helpful volunteers walked to the Marine Hall to watch their Christmas Panto - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The children joined in with every cheer and boo, along with singing, laughing and dancing in their seats. The children's behaviour and manners was complimented on by members of the public too. It was a great way to continue the Christmas celebrations.
