  • St Mary's School - Double Winners in the Christmas Tree Festival Competition

    Wed 20 Dec 2017

Wow!  Congratulations to all of the children who contributed to our beautiful Christmas tree entry this year for the Trinity Christmas Tree Festival Competition.  Mrs Kowalska went along to the award ceremony and was very pleasantly surprised to be awarded with the Mollie Cooke Trophy for the overall Winning Tree and the Fleetwood Museum Trust Shield for the best entry by a school or youth group.  In addition to this, our school will be awarded an amount of money for us to donate to a charity of our choice.  A big thank you has to go to Karen Thomas, one of our parents, a member of staff and a school Governor - for co-ordinating the whole project from initial idea to final presentation.  Thank you Karen from all of the children and the rest of the St Mary's team. smiley

The wonderful Christmas tree is currently on display in the school foyer - complete with lights!

Such excitement in our Marie Curie Class this afternoon!  Having written fantastic letters to Father Christmas, the children in Year 3 have been eagerly awaiting a reply.  Well today was the day!  All of the children received an individual envelope with each of their names on.....inside was a magical reply from Father Christmas.  What a fabulous way to start Advent!

  • A letter full of compliments

Tue 21 Nov 2017 Ann Kowalska

A huge well done to our Year 4 Einstein class!  They recently went on a class trip to the Dungeons at Blackpool Tower as part of their topic learning focus.  Their mode of transport was our public tram service.  As always we expect that our children represent our school by ensuring that our standards for good behaviour are reflected beyond school at all times.  The children not only behaved impeccably, as noted by all of the adults who accompanied them, but received acknowledgement from two members of the public who felt so strongly they put pen to paper and wrote the following letter:

    Dear St Mary's School,

I just felt the need to write and let you know how lovely it was on Thursday 9th November to be in the company of some wonderful children from your school.  They were very well-presented and very well-mannered and it was great to hear all the things they were talking about to us.

People are very quick nowadays to judge young people, but these children are a credit to your school, their teacher and our community.  They made our tram journey very enjoyable.

    Yours faithfully,

    Mr and Mrs Crompton

  • Fleetwood Light Switch On

    Sat 18 Nov 2017
On Saturday 18th November, St. Mary's choir were chosen to sing at the end of the lantern parade. The children sang really well and got everyone in the Christmas spirit singing the songs they've been practising and represented St. Mary's superbly.
